Lesbos (Mytilene)
Is
the third largest of the Greek islands, after Crete and Eubioa, with a
population of approximately 100,000 inhabitants. Mytilene is the capital
city of the island and the government seat for adjacent Lemnos and Agios
Efstratios. The island is served by air from Athens and certain European
cities (charter flights). Fast, efficient and modern ferry boats provide
regular service from Athens (Piraeus). The island has an illustrious
history and produced many notable poets, writers and philosophers, (Pittakos,
Alkaios, Sapho, Myrivilis, Elytis, and the painter Theophilos).

Located 6 km from Mytilini town on the beach of Geras
